Police cleared after suspect breaks his wrist

An investigation into an arrest that resulted in the suspect breaking his wrist has cleared Windsor Police officers of any wrongdoing.

Ontario's Special Investigations Unit was called after officers arrested a man wanted on eight outstanding warrants in September 2017.

Police got a tip the suspect was at a housing complex near Glengarry Ave. and University Ave. E, and arrested the man as he left a building.

During a struggle to handcuff the suspect, he landed face-first on the driveway.

It was back at the Windsor Police Service headquarters that the suspect complained about his wrist.

He was taken to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a mild fracture.
