Local banking giant gets prestigious honour

Former WFCU Credit Union CEO Marty Komsa is being inducted into the Credit Union Executive Society (CUES) Hall of Fame.

Komsa will be honoured in Nashville on November 5-7.

The CUES is an international membership association based in Madison, Wisconsin dedicated to developing credit union leaders. Inductees are recognized for their lifetime achievements and contributions to their profession and industry and involvement in community service.

“I, along with the Board of Directors, members and staff, would like to congratulate Marty on being inducted into the CUES Hall of Fame,” said Eddie Francis, WFCU Credit Union president and CEO. “Marty’s insights, support, and wealth of knowledge of the credit union system have helped position, not only WFCU Credit Union, but the credit union system as a whole, as a top choice of consumers within the financial sector.”

Over the years, Komsa has served on numerous boards and committees.

“We applaud Marty on his outstanding accomplishment,” stated Martin Gillis, chair of the WFCU Credit Union Board of Directors. “For over 30 years Marty’s leadership was instrumental in driving the credit union’s strategic plan to ensure we are seen as a leader and innovator throughout Ontario. He truly deserves this honour.”

Komsa has also received many awards throughout the years.
