UPDATE: Two accidental fires keep firefighters busy

Firefighters in Windsor were kept busy after two accidental fires broke out in different parts of the city.

The Windsor Fire and Rescue Service reported the first blaze on the sixth floor of a Glengarry Avenue apartment building on Tuesday shortly before 6 p.m.

No one was injured in the fire.

Fire officials said the blaze was started in a kitchen oven and was a result of unattended cooking.  Damage is pegged at around $15,000.

Not long after around 6:30 p.m., fire crews responded to a house fire on Oak Street near Erie Street West.  There were heavy smoke conditions when firefighters arrived at the scene.

All residents were able to make it out of the home safely.

Fire officials said the house was undergoing renovations and the fire is believed to be electrical in nature.

Damage is estimated at around $100,000.
