Amherstburg will soon have a new hotel.
The town announced a new 60-room hotel and conference centre on Thursday.
Mayor Aldo DiCarlo said the Quality Inn and Suites Amherstburg will be built at Simcoe Street and Meloche Road, across the street from the Libro Credit Union Centre.
The new $20 million hotel will have an indoor swimming pool and is designed to attract families, conferences, sport tourism, and independent travel. The hotel will offer hot breakfasts and expects to employ 20 people. The six-acre site will also have room to further develop a number of restaurants and retail space, which will also bring further employment and investment to the town.
“I have been working on bringing a quality, family-friendly, all-purpose hotel to the Town of Amherstburg for years,” said NOR-BUILT President Norbert Bolger. “In close and effective partnership with Mayor DiCarlo and Town Administration, I feel the time has come to move forward with this project in providing accommodations to our visitors, families, and the conference and tournament market.”
