Windsor remembers war dead with flags along waterfront

Since the Boer War, 128,000 Canadians have been killed and missing in action.

Windsor residents will pay tribute to them Saturday at a ceremony at Assumption Park.

The ceremony, hosted by the Veterans Voices of Canada - Flags of Remembrance Committee, starts at 1 p.m. and a large crowd is expected.

128 full-sized Canadian flags will be unfurled along the waterfront, and families of the war dead will be presented with 128 sponsored plaques.
