Police Arrest Modern Day Robin Hood In Windsor

Windsor police have arrested a 29-year-old Windsor man accused of wandering around with a crossbow and an axe.

Officers were called to a restaurant on Lauzon Rd. just south of McHugh St. Wednesday night after a man allegedly threw an axe and fired an arrow from a crossbow at another man as he was driving away with his friends. Police say the man who called police was in his vehicle with a group of friends at a nearby parking lot and they flashed their vehicle lights into the restaurant to get someone's attention when a man left the eatery holding a crossbow. Investigators say an argument followed and the suspect allegedly threatened the caller. The group left but while they were driving away, an axe was thrown at the vehicle. The complainant returned to the area to check on his friend in a second vehicle that pulled over but saw a man pointing the crossbow at them. He also heard the sound of an arrow whistling as he drove by.

A suspect was arrested without incident in a nearby establishment and police claim he was in possession of a crossbow and arrows. He was also found to be breaching court orders not to drink alcohol.

The man is charged with uttering threats, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, assault with a weapon, and failing to comply with his court conditions.
