Two cats have died and their owner is displaced after a fire broke out at a four-storey apartment building in Windsor.
The Windsor Fire and Rescue Service reported the blaze in a first-floor apartment unit on Giles Blvd. W near Church St., just before 6pm on Monday. Fire officials say everyone was able to make it out of the building safely and all have since returned, except for the person living in the affected unit.
Fire officials say there was $75,000 damage in a first-floor unit, and another $75,000 water and smoke damage throughout the rest of the building.
No one was injured, however, two cats perished in the blaze.
Fire officials say an investigator will be attending the scene to determine origin and cause of the fire.
