Motorcyclists Rally For A Cause In Leamington

Motorcycle enthusiasts are converging on Leamington this weekend for a cause.

The annual Hogs For Hospice event runs at Seacliff Park. The three-day rally features bike shows, concerts, a motocross event, vendors, food, a beer garden and more.

The rally is part of a major campaign by the municipality to showcase Seacliff Park and its new state-of-the-art amphitheatre. The event is also tied into the centennial of nearby Point Pelee National Park.

Proceeds from the rally benefit the Erie Shores campus of The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. In the past two years, the event has raised $250,000.

The main event area closes at 11pm on Friday, and opens at 9am Saturday and Sunday.

Events for Saturday include the Tour the Tip motorcycle ride to Point Pelee. Registration begins at 8:30am with kickstands up at 10:30am. Also featured is the Iron by the Beach Custom Motorcycle Show from 1pm to 5pm. A concert from country music artist Randy Houser, with special guest Buck Twenty, takes place in the evening at the amphitheatre. Doors open at 6pm.

On Sunday, the Lions Club sponsors a pancake breakfast from 8am to 10am at the Seacliff Park Pavilion. A Sunday worship service is scheduled for the amphitheatre at 10:30am and Jordan Szoke's Motorcycle Stunt Show runs at noon and 4pm.

The Hogs For Hospice website has the complete schedule of events, along with information on parking and street closures.
