A DNA match has led to the arrest of a suspect in a 2016 Windsor bank robbery.

Windsor police officers arrested the 47-year-old Hamilton man at an address in the Toronto area Thursday.

The robbery occurred September 23, 2016 at a bank on Tecumseh Rd. E near Turner Rd. A man entered the bank and demanded money from the teller, saying he had a weapon. Police say no weapon was seen.

The suspect was identified through a DNA sample that was taken on the day of the robbery and examined by the Centre of Forensic Sciences. Windsor police were recently notified of the match.
