Design Review Set For Leamington Skate Park

Skating enthusiasts will soon have a say on how Leamington's new skate park will look.

The municipality is holding an open house on Wednesday evening, during which skaters can examine a variety of plans for the long-awaited skate park and comment on them.

The three potential designs people will be looking at have been drawn up by Newline Skateparks, which was awarded the tender by Leamington council in April.

The public will have an opportunity to rate each one and choose their favourite.

Once a consensus is reached, the consultant will revise the most popular design based on the feedback received, then submit it for final approval.

The budget for the project is $370,000. Once councillors sign off on the final design, construction on the skate park would take about 12 weeks.

The open house runs from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday at the Kinsmen Recreation Complex.
