Windsor Writers Strive For Greatness

If you are a writer and are having trouble getting published, there's a conference for you.

The Windsor International Writers are holding their bi-annual writers' conference July 6-8 at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Ambassador Bridge at 1855 Huron Church Rd.

Pam Goldstein, Conference Founder and Chair, says this year's conference focuses on self publishing.

"People need to understand that they are good and they need to self-promote and need to have their own website and all that stuff," says Goldstein.

Goldstein says there will be several key note speakers, publishing houses and literary agencies at the conference.

The Windsor International Writers is a not for profit literary organization dedicated to the development of a successful literary market in Windsor and making the city one of Canada's leading Literary Hubs.

Goldstein says the conference will provide writers with the opportunity to network and receive feedback from industry professionals.

"Now it's here's the points, this is what the story wants to tell you and this is what you need to take away from it," she says.

Goldstein says the Windsor area is the sixth leading Literary Hub in Canada but has the potential to really grow.

"You could easily become the #2 or #3 Literary Hub of Canada next to Toronto," Goldstein says.
