Windsor Man Charged In Child Porn Case

A 20-year-old Windsor man is facing multiple child pornography charges.

Windsor police say the charges stem from an investigation that began in October 2017, when they received a tip from the RCMP's National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC) that indicated the suspect had allegedly uploaded child pornography to the internet.

Investigators from the WPS Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) were able to identify the man and a search warrant was executed Tuesday at a Windsor home. The man was taken into custody and various computers and electronic storage devices were seized.

The probe revealed that the offences took place between September 2015 and December 2016. As a result, the man has been charged with three child pornography offences under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and three charges as an adult.

The charges include possession of, accessing and transmitting child pornography.

The suspect has not been identified since he was a youth at the time of the offences.

There is no evidence that any of the children seen on the images have local connections.

Anyone with additional information on this case is asked to call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4896, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (519) 258-8477 (TIPS).
