An arrest warrant has been issued for a Windsor man after a woman he knows was stabbed in the neck in downtown Windsor.

The Windsor Police Service says on Tuesday around 9:30pm, officers were called to Ouellette Ave. near Riverside Dr. after the woman was stabbed by a man in front a downtown bar. Police initially stated her injury was non-life threatening, they now say the stab wound is life threatening

Officers are still looking for 21-year-old Benjamin Carter of no fixed address. He is described as a black male, 6'0" tall, around 210 lbs, with brown eyes and black hair. He is facing charges of attempted murder, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and breach of probation.

Police have not recovered a weapon.

They say Carter is considered armed and dangerous and is not to be approached.
