More Information Released After Standoff

Windsor police are releasing more details about a brief standoff that saw officers with guns drawn surround a home on Bloomfield Rd.

Officers were called to the scene of a disturbance at a home on Bloomfield near Brock St. around 1:40pm Saturday.

"Due to the nature of the call for service, responding officers surrounded the involved residence, some with their issued firearm drawn," police said in a news release issued Monday.

According to police, officers found a man in the backyard who confirmed that he had called 911. The man told officers that everyone involved in the disturbance, which reportedly involved a man with a firearm, had left the scene. Police have not been able to confirm whether or not there was a firearm.

Officers then found a man walking along the rail tracks on College Ave. He had injuries police say were consistent with being in a fight. The 20-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment.

So far, police say they have been met with varying degrees of co-operation from people were at the scene, but investigators say the people involved in the incident were known to each other.

"Witnesses described three other adult males as having left the residence prior to police arrival, described only as being approximately 5'5" in height, all with a skinny build," the police statement said.
