UPDATE: Special Weather Statement Ends In Some Areas

A special weather statement has ended for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent, however, it's continued for the London-area.

Environment Canada warned of possible power outages because of strong winds across much of southwestern Ontario.

It said strong southwest winds will shift to the northwest Wednesday as an arctic cold front moves into the region.

The winds will slowly die down Wednesday night.

On Tuesday, Environment Canada issued another special weather statement calling for significant rainfall, and the Essex Region Conservation Authority has a flood watch in effect warning of standing water across Essex County, along with breakwall damage and shoreline erosion along the shores of Lake Erie.
