The wait is finally over for parishioners at Saint Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Tecumseh.
Saturday morning, the last of the scaffolding around the restored spire will be taken off and revealed for the first time since it was reinstalled last November.

The spire sat on the front lawn of the church for a decade after engineers raised concerns about wood rot. At the time, they feared the steeple would topple from the 145 church.
Saint Anne's has undergone a full exterior restoration at the cost of $3.5-million. Parishioners and the community have already raised 60% of the money needed to fund the project.
Now with the outside of the landmark renovated, the parish hopes to undertake work inside the building including upgrading its audio-visual system, installing exterior lights, washrooms, outdoor signage, and a new parking lot.
