Festivals In Amherstburg, Kingsville, Chatham-Kent Score Provincial Cash

The provincial government is financially supporting 328 festivals and events across Ontario this year, the highest number ever. More than $20-million has been set aside through Celebrate Ontario.

Two events in Essex County and one in Chatham-Kent will get provincial cash.

In Amherstburg, the Town of the Odd and Peculiar event on August 5 will receive $23,350.

The Kingsville Folk Music Festival, also in August, will receive $37,304.

In Chatham-Kent, the 2018 International Plowing Match in September will receive $297,850.

Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Daiene Vernile announced the funding. Celebrate Ontario helps festivals and event organizers improve their programming, activities, and services so they can reach new audiences and support jobs in their communities.
