Police Urge Drivers To Slow Down After Multiple Crashes

A number of weather-related collisions have prompted provincial police to urge drivers to take it slow on the roads.

With more snow on the way Thursday evening, police say drivers need to stay in control of vehicles at all times.

As of 6pm, police have already responded to a number of collisions throughout Essex County in just a few hours, including a tractor trailer crash in the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 401 near Comber.

Police say the tractor trailer jackknifed and punctured a fuel tank, causing a fuel spill along the highway near County Rd. 31.  The Ministry of Environment also responded to the scene to assist with the clean-up.

Police are asking drivers to allow extra time to get to and from their destination.
