Greyhounds Maul Spitfires 4-2

Boris Katchouk scored a hat trick as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds beat the Windsor Spitfires 4-2 Saturday night at the WFCU Centre.

The Spitfires have 59 points in the OHL Western Conference standings and the final playoff spot.

Igor Larionov Jr. opened the scoring with his fourth goal of the year at 2:41 of the first period. The Hounds then scored two of their own before the end of the frame. Jack Kopacka tied the game 35 seconds after the Larionov goal, and Katchouk gave Sault Ste. Marie the lead with his first goal of the night.

Luke Kutkevicius tied the game for Windsor with a goal late in the second period.

Katchouk completed his hat trick with back-to-back goals in the third frame.

The Spitfires welcome the Erie Otters to the WFCU Centre Sunday afternoon, when the team retires the number of former star Taylor Hall.
