The Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating after the body of a man was found in the west end of the city.

Sergeant Steve Betteridge says police got a call just after 7am Wednesday about a man lying down in an alley on Church St. between Caroline St. and Newbury St.

He says the investigation is in its initial stages, but police are calling it a “sudden death”.

Police were canvassing the area and going door to door looking for witnesses Wednesday morning.  The entire corner of Church St. and Caroline St. was cordoned off with police tape while officers were at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700 ext. 4380, Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS), or go online to www.catchcrooks.com.
