Allegations Of Race Fixing Under Investigation At Leamington, Dresden Raceways

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario confirms it is investigating allegations of race fixing at the Leamington and Dresden Raceways.

"AGCO Investigators in London did receive a call from a member of the public with concerns about racing at Leamington and Dresden. The AGCO review of this allegation is not complete. AGCO Racing Investigators continue to gather information," said AGCO Senior Communications Advisor Ray Kahnert in an email Thursday morning.

BlackburnNews.com became aware of the allegations through an email from a concerned citizen.

Tom Bain, a member of the Lakeshore Horse Racing Association, says commission officials have not approached him, but he is aware of the investigation and believes the Leamington track will be exonerated.

"I feel strongly that the investigation will show that there's no wrongdoing," says Bain.

The complaint is related to the 2017 season.
