90-Minute Search Of Lake St. Clair Turns Up Nothing

A search for a person and a dog on Lake St. Clair in Lakeshore has yielded no results.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Tuesday around 5:45pm, police, EMS, firefighters and a United States Coast Guard helicopter began the search after someone using binoculars reported seeing a person possibly standing on an ice floe in the lake. Police also received a report earlier in the day of a dog on the ice near the foot of Essex County Rd. 25.

After 90 minutes, the search was called off, however, neither a person or dog was located.

Police say at this time, there have been no reports of missing or overdue persons in the area.
