Got Thoughts About Windsor Police Taking Over Services In Amherstburg?

Amherstburg residents are invited to a public meeting to give their thoughts on having Windsor Police Services take over policing in the town.

The second of four public meetings is Thursday night at the Knights of Columbus Hall in McGregor. The meeting starts at 6pm.

There was a public meeting Wednesday at Amherstburg Town Hall.

Windsor Police submitted a bid that could save the town $567,000 a year. The Ontario Provincial Police were expected to submit a bid for costing but never did. At one point, even LaSalle suggested the possibility the two municipalities form a regional police force. That idea also fell through.

The next two public meetings are on Thursday, January 25, at 6pm at St. Peters ACHS College, and Saturday, January 27 at 11am at the Libro Credit Union Centre.
