Fire Affects Windsor Metal Business

Windsor Fire and Rescue say a fire at a metal finishing business is out.

Firefighters say the incident began around 1:30pm on Wednesday, at ANM Industries, located at 2500 Central Ave. The fire apparently began in an oven and spread to a ventilation and duct system. About 30 employees were led out of the building safely.

Crews were able to contain the flames in the ventilation system and bring the fire under control soon after. It was declared out just before 2:30pm with ventilation and smoke removal taking place.

An investigator has responded to the scene. Central Ave. between Ypres and Grand Marais was closed in both directions during the incident.

No injuries were reported and there has been no word yet on a damage estimate.
