Two men are facing charges after a road rage incident in Windsor led to slashed tires and one man pulling out a replica handgun.
The Windsor Police Service says on August 11 at around 12:45pm, the victim of the road rage incident was driving in the area Walker Rd. and Sydney Ave. when he saw a green Toyota Camry driving erratically. The Toyota drove in front of the victim at a slow speed and repeatedly applied his brakes in an aggressive manner.
When the victim snapped a photo of the Toyota, the driver stopped and confronted him. After a brief argument, the man stomped down on the hood of the victim's car, and then took off heading south on Walker.
Shortly after, the victim went to a business on County Rd. 42 near Concession Rd. 7 to repair the damage done to his vehicle. While there, a gray Dodge Durango pulled into the parking lot and a group of males, including the driver from the previous incident, got out of the SUV.
When the victim retreated to stand with another group of men, the suspect retrieved a suspected handgun from the SUV and threatened the victim. Another man from the group then proceeded to slash the tires and damage the side of of the victim's car. The group quickly left the area in the SUV.
On August 18 around 6pm, officers located the Toyota Camry on Walker Rd. and then arrested two suspects nearby. Police located a pellet gun (replica handgun) inside the vehicle.
As a result a 24-year-old Windsor man has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a weapon dangerous to public peace, mischief and uttering threats.
As well, an 18-year-old man from Brantford has been charged with mischief and breach of recognizance.
