The province is investing $175-million for repairs at hospitals across Ontario, and Windsor Regional Hospital and Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare will get a share of it.

The Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network says Windsor Regional Hospital will get $714,137, while Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare will receive $755,937.

In Leamington, Erie Shores Healthcare will receive $428,819.

Funding from the province will allow hospitals to make critical repairs to things like roofs, windows, heating and air conditioning systems, fire alarms, and back-up generators.

“These investments, intended to help improve local-area hospitals’ infrastructure, are great news for our region,” says Erie St. Clair LHIN CEO Ralph Ganter. “Hospitals need to focus their attention on frontline care, but well-maintained hospital facilities are also crucial for the overall patient experience.”

The money will flow from the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund.
