Two new condominiums are going up in Tecumseh.
Mayor Gary McNamara says the new five storey, 43 and 51 unit structures will be built on Tecumseh Rd near Shawnee Rd beginning this summer.
McNamara says there's a real demand in Tecumseh for multi-residential buildings.
"Baby boomers and empty-nesters are getting to a point where they're looking at downsizing," says Mayor McNamara.
Each unit starts at $250,000.
McNamara says it's all part of the plan to move Tecumseh forward.
"This fits right into our community improvement plan where we want to bring people into the downtown area that we're trying to revitalize," the Mayor says.
McNamara says the community improvement plan is working to revitalize the downtown core.
"That's what drives the commercial development and we're seeing more and more interest. More lands are being sold and there's a real take up on our community improvement plan," says McNamara.
