The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board has hired a facilitator to help in its search for a new director of education.
Director Paul Picard announced he would be retiring effective October 30, 2017 at the last board meeting.
Board Chair Barbara Holland says they've hired Robert Murray to help guide the search and conduct public consultation.
"We're going to do a very structured search and we're going to take our time and make a thought-filled decision and there will be community consultation, we don't do this in a vacuum," says Holland.
Holland says through the community consultation they will develop and profile and job listing, which will be posted province wide to attract a diverse group of applicants.
They hope to have the new director in place by mid-October to allow for some crossover.
