The Caldwell First Nation in Leamington is suspending its chief and council, as it awaits the results of a forensic audit.
Its members voted in favour of the suspensions at a June 3 Annual General Membership Meeting.
Director of Operations at Caldwell First Nation Allen Deleary says the audit will specifically be looking into finances surrounding the CFN Pow Wow 2016.
The process is expected to take about 60 days.
Once an audit report is prepared, the chief and council are expected to return to active duty.
