UPDATE: Witnesses Needed After Teen Struck By Vehicle

A 16-year-old boy is in stable condition in hospital and police in Windsor are looking for witnesses after he was struck by a minivan.

Police say it happened around 3:30pm Monday on Dominion Blvd. near McKay Ave.

When officers arrived, witnesses were tending to the victim in a ditch. He was conscious but was suffering life threatening injuries.

Officers met with the driver of a gold Dodge Caravan soon after and believe they have identified the driver of the vehicle that hit the boy.

The investigation shut down a section of Dominion for several hours so the Accident Reconstruction Team and Forensic Identification Unit could process the scene.

Police have spoken with a number of witnesses, but believe there are still some out there who may have seen the crash and have not had the opportunity to speak with officers.

Anyone with information should call Windsor Police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4111, or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477. Witnesses can leave their information online too.
