Police Deal Major Blow To Local Drug Trade

Two Windsor men have been arrested after what investigators believe is one of the largest drug busts in the city's history.

The Windsor Police Service says large amounts of cocaine, marijuana, and percocets were uncovered at two houses, a storage locker, and a commercial building. The estimated street value of the narcotics is $222,360.

"[Two kilograms of cocaine] is the second largest amount of cocaine ever seized by Windsor police [in one bust], that I can remember," says Staff Sergeant Dan Potvin.

Officers also seized $70,000 in cash and a Mercedes.

Potvin says investigation started in February, and he believes the drugs were being trafficked from Toronto for distribution in Windsor and Essex County.

One of the homes that was searched belongs to the accused and is located on the east end of Windsor.  The other home belongs to one of the accused's parents.  Not many other details are available at this time, as the investigation continues.

Sihat Jahangiri, 30, and Christopher Scallon, 31, face a total of 11 drug and weapon-related charges.
