Strike Avoided At Flex-N-Gate
Unifor Local 195 and officials at Flex-N-Gate in Lakeshore have reached a tentative agreement ahead of a strike deadline Thursday morning.
Union President Gerry Farnham tells BlackburnNews.com that a deal had been reached around 4pm on Tuesday after the two parties returned to the bargaining table. The current employee contract is set to expire at midnight on Wednesday.
While Farnham says the union is recommending that membership accept the agreement, he is not releasing any details about the new contract until it has been ratified.
Unifor Local 195 represents just over 200 workers at the plant, a Tier 1 automaker that supplies the Windsor Assembly Plant.
Employees will vote on the new agreement at 12:30pm on Friday.
