Possible Cougar Sighting In LaSalle

Police are warning residents that there could be a cougar on the loose in Lasalle near Windsor.

The LaSalle Police Service says on Wednesday around 8am, two residents saw what they believe to be a cougar walking in the bush behind houses on Todd Lane, just west of the Herb Gray Pkwy. near Bishop St.

Police say the creature is tan, about 3 ft in height and 5 ft in length.

Officers went to the area and discovered large tracks consistent with a large cat.

Police are warning local residents not to approach the animal if located or sighted. Residents are also asked to be alert when out enjoying the local trails.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the LaSalle Police Service at 519-969-5210.
