Getting Ready For The Cycling Season

Whether cycling is your main means of transportation or just something you do for fun, Bike Windsor-Essex is launching a series of basic maintenance classes.

Bike Windsor-Essex has teamed up with organizations including the Downtown Mission, the Downtown Windsor Community Collective, the Glengarry Initiative, the Windsor Youth Centre and New Beginnings to offer the program.

It is open to those 16-years and older, and those experiencing poverty can attend free of cost. Three classes will cost everyone else $50 although members of Bike Windsor-Essex can pay just $40.

The classes opened to those 16-years and older, are offered Sundays and Wednesdays the first three weeks of each month at 101 University Ave. W in Windsor.

Those who graduate could get a $60 toolkit so they can continue to ride safely.

More advanced classes will follow. Eventually, participants can be paid to teach classes themselves.
