Access To Services For Businesses And Unemployed Made Easier

A new online tool by WorkForce Windsor-Essex is expected to save entrepreneurs and job seekers a lot of time.

The agency is launching WEsearch, which Windsor's Unemployed Help Centre Executive Director June Muir describes as a "one-stop shop" for those in need of local programs and services.

"It's very easy to use. It's not intimidating," says Muir. "You don't have to put your name or any kind of [personal] information in to utilize the different pages or where you need to go to find a job."

The executive director of Windsor's Small Business Centre, Sabrina DeMarco, says in the past, business owners or people looking for jobs would have to search through municipal, provincial and federal websites to find information.

"You're cross referencing information against one site to another, and different programs and brochures," she says. "This is a lot more functional, it's interactive, and it's going to bring you exactly to who the service provider is."
