CBSA Seizes Multiple Weapons in November

The Canadian Border Service Agency continues to keep guns off the streets in Windsor.

In November, three handguns were discovered in vehicles trying to cross at the Ambassador Bridge and the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel.

On November 25, a father and daughter were crossing into Windsor to visit family. Upon secondary inspection a handgun was found in the glove department. The daughter stated that the vehicle belonged to her boyfriend and they had no idea the gun was in the vehicle. The CBSA, reminds all drivers that you are responsible for all the contents in a vehicle whether it is theirs or not. The pair were not charged criminally but they face a $1,500 fine and the gun was seized.

Also in November the CBSA detained two individuals who were wanted in Canada for outstanding warrants. One was attempting to cross on the Windsor/Detroit Tunnel bus. The other was arrested for importing narcotics as well as an outstanding warrant from London Police Service.
