A Dry Halloween For Trick Or Treaters

Trick or treaters will not have to worry about rain when they go from house to house Monday night.

Environment Canada says Halloween night will be a dry one without any rain in the forecast.

Meteorologist Mitch Meredith said southwestern Ontario will be dry and comfortable.

"We're looking at some very mild weather," says Meredith. "Around 6pm the temperature will be right around 10 C or 11 C and the winds will be light, and we're not expecting any precipitation."

Late October is typically cool with several appearances of frost, but Meredith says this has been a mild October in the area though the average temperature for the month has been in the normal range.

"We have had a lot of warm fronts pushing up over the region.  Lake Erie has also been quite warm," says Meredith.  "A lot of our low pressure systems we've been tracking into northern Ontario.  We really haven't had a lot of cold weather and not very much frost."

Trick or treaters may not need heavy jackets when they go out Halloween night, but there will be a noticeable change in the weather for Tuesday and Wednesday, says Meredith.

"Another fairly strong warm front comes over the region on Tuesday, and we're expecting highs of 22 C on Tuesday.  Sometime between Wednesday and Wednesday night, we'll probably get a weaker cold front," says Meredith.
