Police Investigate Swastika Painting On Garage Door

Windsor police have arrested a 63-year-old male in connection with painting a swastika on a garage door.

Staff Sergeant Karl DeGraas says on Friday morning police were called to a residence in South Windsor, after the complainant called about a freshly painted swastika.

Police later found a second symbol painted on a residence at a different location. They are not releasing what the second symbol was.

"There was a male arrested at the scene and there's an investigation that's still on-going so charges haven't been laid officially yet," says DeGraas.

Police say they're not categorizing this as a hate crime at this time.

"They'll be doing interviews and doing a more extensive investigation," says DeGraas. "Then they'll make the determination if it was a hate crime."
