WindsorEats Makes The Finals For Major Awards

A popular culinary event in Windsor has been named a finalist for three awards at the 2016 Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence.

The awards highlight organizations and individuals that make a significant contribution to Ontario's tourism industry.

WindsorEats is nominated for the Ontario Culinary Tourism Experience Award for its Drinks of Walkerville tour, which celebrates the history of Hiram Walker.

The Tourism Innovator of the Year Award nomination is for the WindsorEats Traveller, a vintage 1973 Trillium trailer that was converted into a mobile bar. The traveller takes locally made products on tours across the region.

WindsorEats founder Adriano Ciotoli has also been nominated for the Tourism Champion of the Year Award. The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario uses this award to recognize those who "embodies the spirit of tourism in Ontario." Ciotoli is also a member of the Board of Directors of Tourism Windsor-Essex Pelee Island and the Southwest Ontario Tourism Corporation.

"Being named a finalist in these three categories goes (sic) a long way in highlighting the leadership we've displayed in the Windsor-Essex culinary and tourism industry over the last 12 years," says Ciotoli. "It's an absolute honour to be recognized by our industry and help to continue shining a spotlight on our region."
