A tentative deal is in place between Unifor and General Motors.
The union reported at about 12:30am on Tuesday it had reached a framework for a tentative agreement with GM, albeit with some loose ends still needing to be tied up.
Unifor National President Jerry Dias expects to make a decision in the next 24 hours as to whether to turn to Ford or Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as the next company for collective bargaining talks.
Earlier this month, the union picked GM as the target company with which to set the framework for new contracts with the other two major North American automakers — Ford and FCA, which both have a presence in Windsor.
