Sausage Fest Cancelled

WindsorEats is blaming low ticket sales for its move to cancel Sausage Fest this weekend.

"We just weren't seeing ticket sales where we wanted them to be," says Adrian Ciotoli, co-owner of WindsorEats in a news released. "It was a very difficult decision ... in the best interest of our vendors, we felt it was the right decision to make."

Sausage Fest was set to run August 5 - 6.

Not all is lost for sausage enthusiasts as WindsorEats plans to host the event — on a smaller scale — in the fall.

In lieu of Sausage Fest being cancelled this weekend, WindsorEats will be making a donation to the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association where the event was to be hosted.

A call to WindsorEats for more information on the cancellation has not been returned as of publishing.
