The University of Windsor starts collective bargaining today with the first of seven bargaining units. University and CUPE Local 1393 officials representing skilled trades and technical workers will sit down with a conciliator. The workers have been without a contract since the end of March. Three years ago, the workers were off the job for more than a month after talks broke down over job evaluations, bumping rights and job security. A statement from the university says it requested a conciliator to speed up the process.
