A Windsor man and a Windsor-based company have been named in a multi-million dollar lawsuit regarding the piracy of online pornography.
In the suit, which was filed on April 28, AMA Multimedia LLC accuses a number of defendants, including David Koonar and NetMedia Services Inc., of uploading and distributing 64 porn scenes that are protected by copyright. The claim dates back to November 2015.
The lawsuit states Koonar and NetMedia Services own and operate Porn.com, which is a website that displays and distributes adult oriented videos, photographs, content, and services. Koonar is also listed in the lawsuit as the registrant and administrator of Porn.com.
AMA produces hardcore pornography videos, and distributes them on DVD sales and online. The Nevada-based company hosts a network of over 20 websites, such as PassionHD” and “Porn Pros." The websites feature paid memberships and a user must be a member to an AMA site to view AMA content.
The lawsuit says AMA "engages in extremely limited licensing of its content to other entities or websites for viewing."
AMA is seeking $150,000 in reparations for each scene that was allegedly pirated. AMA is also seeking compensation for legal fees and damages.
Sagan Limited, MXN LTD, and GLP 5 are also named in the lawsuit. Koonar is the only individual defendant named.
According to NetMedia's website, the company creates software platforms, content systems and multimedia distribution methods.
