Sellick Expanding In Harrow

Sellick Equipment Limited is celebrating the ground breaking of its new 120,000 sq ft facility in Harrow.

The company builds rough terrain forklifts and is looking to expand into a wider range of equipment.

"The problem we have in the existing building is we're restricted and we can't build bigger forklifts and that's what it's all about, it opens up a lot of opportunities for bigger equipment," says CEO Howard Sellick.

The expansion secures positions for the company's 75 employees and opens the door for more jobs in the future.

Building the new facility and purchasing new cutting-edge equipment will cost the company $15-million to $20-million. Sellick expects the project to be completed by the fall of 2017.

"We gotta get more modernized and that's why we're building a new plant and it's state-of-the-art. It will probably be one of the best manufacturing facilities in North America when it comes to rough terrain forklifts," says Sellick.

The company utilized the Windsor Essex Economic Development Corporation business retention team to find the location for its new facility.
