Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island is highlighting some local hot spots and hidden gems with its "Best Of" list for 2016.
The list of restaurants, bars and tourist destinations was voted on by over 3,000 residents during a social media campaign in December.
TWEPI CEO Gordon Orr says the list includes the best of the region in 61 different categories to give visitors the best experiences Windsor-Essex has to offer.
"When visitors come to a region they want to know where the locals go, what do the locals like in that particular region. And that's really the intent of this social media campaign," says Orr.
The establishments will be highlighted in TWEPI s 2016/17 Official Visitor Guide and on the initiative's website.
"What it does is it certainly gives you a checklist and a target of places to visit or places to go and see during this summer season," says Orr.
