Charges Withdrawn In Drug Injection Case

Charges have been withdrawn against a woman who was believed to be criminally responsible for the death of her roommate.

Back in August Windsor police say Dana St. Louis, 44, injected him with an unknown drug and the 51-year-old later died.

The Crown Attorney concluded there was no reasonable prospect for conviction.

The charges of manslaughter and criminal negligence causing death have been dropped against St. Louis.

"In all cases, the Crown has a duty to assess the strength of a case throughout a prosecution, and is duty bound to withdraw charges if there is no reasonable prospect of conviction, or if it is not in the public interest to proceed," the attorney general's office said in an email to BlackburnNews.com.
