WIFF Announces Line Up

Local filmmakers get the spotlight during the 11th annual Windsor International Film Festival.

"We had our highest amount of submissions this year," says Executive Director Vincent Georgie. "Also, notable, just the quality of them."

This year's event will feature two films from Windsor native Dylan Pearce including his latest effort "40 Below And Falling."

Another local submission is "Still Water" a biopic of Windsor's rum running days. Hundreds of people helped behind the scenes or played extras in the film by Min Bae.

Georgie says the event continues to grow and attract greater loyalty among local film lovers.

"Last year, our average pass holder saw 28 movies," he says. "Our record holder last year, Mike Rogers, he saw 60 movies last year."

As for movies with star power, the festival will show "Born To Be Blue" starring Ethan Hawke in a and Charlize Theron in "Dark Places". "Stanford Prison Experiment" recounts the true story of a 1971 prison experiment involving 24 university students.

Tickets for the festival that runs from November 3 to 8 are already on sale.
