Downtown BIA Holding Mega-Hospital Townhall

The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association is holding a townhall at the end of the month to ease concerns of the city's core over the proposed mega-hospital for the region.

DWBIA president Larry Horwitz says there are serious questions the downtown wants answered.

"How will it affect the well over 3,000 jobs associated with the hospital along the Ouellette Ave. corridor?" Horwitz asks. "How will it affect the many, many businesses that feed off that area?"

Horwitz adds local healthcare leaders like David Musyj, Janice Kaffer and co-chair of the mega-hospital capital planning steering committee Dave Cooke have been invited to speak at the meeting.

"I'm hoping that by bringing speakers together we'll have an opportunity to better understand what developments are taking place, what will be torn down, what businesses we will gain or lose," says Horwitz.

The townhall is scheduled for October 29 at the Waterfront Hotel.
