Recreation Projects Up For Approval

Lakeshore council will vote on two recreation projects that will add more trails and soccer fields to the town.

The first is a $500,000 tender to build new soccer fields and trails at the Atlas Tube Centre.

"So many more people today and becoming active," according to Mayor Tom Bain. "Part of the Atlas Tube Centre is on territory where the soccer fields were. We had to move those fields to be able to get the Atlas Tube Centre up quickly."

The other project is a $300,000 tender for the continuation of the Trans-Canada Trail running from Staples north to Comber, where it will lead into Chatham-Kent.
