Bluesfest Expects Record Attendance

Bluesfest is pushing the boundaries of Windsor's Riverfront Festival Plaza, as it's expecting its largest ever crowd this weekend.

Bluesfest Windsor President Rob Petroni says advanced ticket sales are already double what they were last year. "One of the biggest changes has been the VIP tents that are being catered by the Other Place, and they have their own bars individually decorated. We've really ramped those up."

Petroni says the back fence of the Festival Plaza is actually being pushed back 160 ft. from where it was last year, as crowds of 10-thousand are expected each day. He says VIP tables and tents are completely sold out, and orders have already been taken for next year.

Tickets at the gate are $20 tonight, $25 tomorrow and $10 on Sunday.

Petroni hopes to be able to donate more than $30,000 to local charities, including the United Way, once all the numbers are calculated after Bluesfest.
